Since the Tiananmen Square Massacre in China, many political opinions have shifted. Perspectives regarding power changed. It came the authorities realization that in order for them to maintain complete control of the country economic development was not a good enough reason to convince people to listen. The "tank man" was a symbol of change. The chinese population became aware of how one person is able to contribute to society and make a difference. Further the massacre also contributed international relations. Due to this event the US didn't want anything to do with China because of their violation of human rights.

In my opinion the Great Leap Forward in which 30 million died is an inexcusable horror that the world had become all to accustomed to. The atrocities seen in other countries like Russia under Stalin's rule and Germany under Hitler's rule were all just as bad as each other. Each had aspects that were worse than the next, but the Great Leap Forward was barely paid attention to by the outside world. In both other cases we saw war and fighting after these mass deaths, and intervention by a third party. It seems however that no one came to the rescue of all these people when they were dying. These people who had lived as farmers who could support their families were now forced to industrialize and work for their government, which led them to starve to death and whole families to die. To rank this mass casualty event would be to make appear better or worse than it was, this period was one of the darkest the world has ever seen and sadly it has many equals.
In the 1900's the Japanese it is evident that the Japanese are partially responsible for introducing communism to China. Sun Yet Sen, the Republic leader of China was leading in 1894 through ti 1895. During his time of leadership the chinese suffered a loss with the Sino-Japanese war. Shortly after the death of Sen Yet Sen in 1925, the new ruler was Chiang Kai-Sheck. During that time, Mao Zedong was in charge of propaganda and promoted communism. This man did not give up on his goals of portraying communism in the country- even in the Long March. Japan in 1931 invaded Manchuria and the Chinese communist party increased its strength. In the time of the Civil War, the CCP and Mao were successful with freeing areas in northern China from the Japanese. Focusing on the chaos revolving around Manchuria, Chiang was unable to slow down the spread of communism. That being the case, he lost and allowed Mao to create the peoples republic of China.
