Italy in Greece and YugoslaviaSummaryThe Italians think it is essential for their status that they establish themselves as a nation. They do so by attacking Greece. They lose the battle for the reason that chose to attack in October. That being the case, the Germans are also affected by the Italians loss. The Germans are obligated to assist Italy out of Operation Marita and they help with the fault of delaying Operation Barbarossa. Hence the delay, the Germans fail with Operation Barbarossa. Soon the Italians organize Operation Punishment and proceed with their attack against Yugoslavia.
